ENERGY STAR-labeled central air conditioning units, when properly installed, can save you up to 20 percent on your cooling costs.

To help with the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR central air conditioner, NSTAR is offering a mail-in rebate of up to $500 for the purchase and installation of high efficiency central air conditioning units and central air source heat pumps that meet or exceed the ENERGY STAR minimum standard Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 14.5, Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 12, and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.2 (for heat pumps only).

Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump systems (air source) must meet or exceed Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 16, Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 12, and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.2. Please note, Ductless Mini-Split cooling only units are not eligible.
